XRP Leads Cryptocurrency Rally on Ripple Labs Deal Speculation

A little-known cryptocurrency at the center of a major legal dispute in the industry is leading the latest rally in digital assets amid speculation that the company behind it may soon reach a settlement with U.S. regulators.

XRP jumped nearly 40% last week to about 60 cents, while market bellwether Bitcoin rose about 12% during the same period. Cryptocurrencies have rallied in part this week on expectations that Donald Trump will be friendlier to the sector if he wins the U.S. presidential election.
