Pro-Crypto Ohio Senator JD Vance Is Donald Trump’s Vice President Pick
Former President Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee for president of the United States, has announced that he has chosen crypto-friendly Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) as his running mate.
“After much deliberation and consideration, and considering the immense talents of many others, I have determined that the person best suited to serve as Vice President of the United States is Senator J.D. Vance of the great State of Ohio,” Trump wrote on the social media app TruthSocial.
“JD has had a very successful business career in technology and finance, and now, during the campaign, he will focus heavily on the people he fought so brilliantly for, American workers and farmers in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, Minnesota and beyond.”

Vance’s chances of being named VP on a crypto-based market prediction platform Polymarket The turnout was 70 percent on Monday, by far the highest of any competitor.
The “Hillbilly Elegy” author and venture capitalist has been a favorable choice among crypto space leaders, given his past efforts to bring clearer legislation. He recently drafted a bill that would overhaul how the U.S. regulates digital assets, according to Politicowhich, according to some sources, would be even more favorable to cryptography than a bill that was passed by the House in June.
North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio were also considered likely candidates to be Trump’s running mate, but were reportedly told earlier Monday that they were not in the running.
Vance did not disclose buying or selling cryptocurrencies in his most recent financial disclosure to the Senate, although in 2022 he disclosed that he held between $100,000 and $250,000 worth of bitcoin.
