Man arrested with nearly $600,000 in stolen bitcoin mining computers, police say

A canyon country A man was arrested Thursday after police said he was in possession of hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of stolen computers that were being used to mine cryptocurrency.
Bryan Thola, 26, had $579,000 worth of computers in a cargo van and a public storage unit, the Los Angeles Police Department said in a press release. These computers were used to mine bitcoin, police added.
Thola faces a charge of receiving stolen property. Police said he was booked into the Van Nuys Jail, although jail records indicate he was released on his own recognizance.
There was no information available about the trial date.
