Auto-generated emojis no longer accompany Bitcoin and crypto hashtags on Elon Musk-owned social app X, home to some of the largest active cryptocurrency communities.
X’s social media accounts and press pages did not publicly announce the withdrawal as of Friday morning in Europe.
Crypto users on X started commenting On Friday morning, they learned that they could no longer see emojis when they posted “#bitcoin” on the service. Some later discovered that the hashtags #bnbchain and #cryptocom, which also featured emojis, no longer displayed the brand’s images.
On Friday, European time, an emoji for #MAGA that previously featured Republican candidate Donald Trump was also removed ahead of his scheduled appearance at the ongoing Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville.
