Dough Finance, Compound and Doja Cat hit hard!

1. Dough Finance issues ultimatum after $1.96 million exploitation
Dough Financing encounter On July 12, 2024, a hacker joined the list of newly hacked crypto organizations. An unknown hacker managed to penetrate the system using a flaw in its smart contract and managed to get away with approximately $1.96 million.
In response, Dough Finance posted a message on the channel asking the hacker to contact the hacker via email and return the funds to a specified address by July 15, 2024 at 23:00 UTC. The team warned that failure to do so would result in legal action to recover the stolen assets.
2. Compound Finance website compromised!
Michael LewellenCompound DAO’s security advisor, has revealed that the official website of Compound Finance (compound.finance) has been hacked. The breach caused the site to display a phishing page designed to steal users’ information.
Lewellen quickly urged the crypto community to avoid interacting with the site to protect their assets. While the exact method of attack remains unclear, this incident highlights the ongoing threat of domain compromises targeting leading crypto platforms. The team has regained control of the website and strengthened its security measures.
The crypto community’s trust in celebrities took a hit when Doja Cat’s Twitter account, with its 5.3 million followers, was compromised. The hacker used the account to promote the meme currency $DOJA, posting a tweet urging followers to “buy $DOJA or else,” along with a link to a Solana wallet and an image of Doja Cat wearing a chainmail hood.
Doja Cat quickly alerted her Instagram followers about the hack, but the damage was done. The $DOJA token saw its market cap briefly increase to $1.65 million before plummeting 96%. The incident is part of a worrying trend of celebrity accounts being hacked to promote fraudulent tokens, similar to past attacks involving Hulk Hogan and Metallica. These scams not only harm celebrities, but also cause significant financial losses to their followers.
