Bitcoin (BTC) price continues to tumble as markets digest US cryptocurrency movements
Bitcoin fell below the $67,000 mark as traders began to weigh signs that the U.S. government may sell off parts of its large cryptocurrency investments.
A wallet linked to the U.S. government moved $2 billion in Bitcoin to a new address on Monday, according to blockchain research firm Arkham Intelligence. The U.S. Treasury has amassed billions of dollars in cryptocurrency seized in crackdowns on platforms like the dark web marketplace Silk Road, a trove that presidential candidate Donald Trump has vowed to turn into a strategic reserve for the country’s coffers if elected.
