Bitcoin (BTC) Hits $69,000, Binance Coin (BNB) Hits 3-Month High (Market Watch)
Bitcoin had a quiet weekend with little to no actual movement, but Monday started off on a positive note as the asset jumped above $69,000 for the first time this month.
Altcoins are also slightly in the green. BNB stands out now with a 5% increase, but this morning the asset went even higher.
Bitcoin’s struggle with $69,000
Last Monday was also quite good for the primary cryptocurrency, as it rose from under $69,000 to a weekly high of over $70,500. However, BTC failed to maintain its rally and started losing value by the end of the day, especially on Tuesday. The retracement culminated in a price drop to $67,200.
Rougher waters following, with the largest increase Thursday to $69,500. However, bitcoin was stopped there and subsequently pushed lower to a weekly low of $66,600.
After an immediate recovery that saw BTC jump to $67,500, the asset calmed down there over the weekend and failed to produce any big moves. However, this business week started on a familiar note and bitcoin jumped to just over $69,000.
Its market capitalization has risen to $1.36 trillion, while its dominance over alts has increased by 0.3% since yesterday and is now at 50.2%.

The local peak of BNB
Most altcoins also followed BTC’s growth with smaller gains. Ethereum reclaimed the $3,800 level after rising 1.1%. Similar price jumps are evident from SOL, XRP, DOGE, TON, ADA, SHIB, AVAX and others.
Binance Coin is the best performing coin among large-cap alternatives, up 5% to $630. Previously, BNB hit $640 for the first time in nearly three months.
Major gains come from the likes of PEPE, KAS and WIF, while NEAR, LIINK and UNI are slightly in the red.
